Learn how to effectively kill Sweet pittosporum in this workshop on the Red Hill Trail. This is the second of two sessions - come to one or both (same content).
Pittosporum is an environmental weed that is ravaging the Mornington Peninsula. Danielle Suffern from local bush rehabiliation contracting company NatureLinks will be on hand to train us. This is a great opportunity to learn how to effectively kill these trees, which although they are native to Australia, are a serious environmental weed on the Peninsula - creating monocultures that prevent indigenous vegetation establishing.
If you have a portable electric drill, please bring it, along with gardening gloves and sturdy boots. We will be using tinted glyphosate to fill the drill holes, so please gloves. We will supply the glyphosate. If you have empty squeezable sauce bottles please bring them as they are good for applying the glyphosate.
