West Wimmera Landcare Network will be hosting a subsidised course to inspire and inform local rural women in the Wimmera.

West Wimmera Landcare Network will be hosting a subsidised course to inspire and inform local rural women in the Wimmera.

Participans will learn about-the art and benefits of networking: achieving a balance between business, family and life: marketing yourself and your business: strategic planning, goal setting and risk management: characteristics of successful rural businesses: making the money work for your farming business.

Lisa Oliver, Regional Landcare Facilitator for West Wimmera has limited places for the ‘Inspiring Rural Women in Agriculture’ course is supported by funding from the Australian Government’s Regional Landcare Facilitator project in partnership with 4 Up Skilling and the Wimmera CMA.

The course is being offered at the highly discounted rate of $285 per person (normally $650). Course fees include, Workshops over four days, all morning teas, lunch and afternoon teas. A Networking dinner, course notes, guides and planning templates and ongoing peer support group.

The course will be presented by Dr Kristy Howard and Cheryl Graham.

Dr Kristy Howard is the Managing Director of Inspiring Excellence. It is her passion to inspire rural communities, people and businesses to achieve excellence through professional and personal learning and growth. She has been working with rural communities and farmers since 1995 specialising in training and development programs. Kristy currently works with 7 farming groups and individual farmers in NE Victoria who are working to make their farming operations more profitable and viable. She also delivers business development and ‘grass roots’ leadership programs for rural business owners to help them grow and develop their farm and rural businesses. Cheryl Graham is a director of Farming answers, a practical, farmer focused consultancy business based in North East Victoria. She has been working with farming families to improve farm productivity, business management and succession outcomes for over 20 years. Cheryl has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Systems Agriculture). Both Kristy and Cheryl have been contracted by 4 Up Skilling Pty Ltd (a private training organisation based in Nth East Victoria) to run the accredited Inspiring Rural Women in Agriculture short course on behalf of the Wimmera CMA and Regional Landcare.
