Dr Bernard Doube, formerly a CSIRO scientist for 29 years, and co-author of “Dung Down Under” is coming to Dadswells Bridge. Dr Doube will explore the world of Dung Beetles and the unique benefits they provide.

Dr Bernard Doube, formerly a CSIRO scientist for 29 years, and co-author of “Dung Down Under” is coming to Dadswells Bridge. Dr Doube will explore the world of Dung Beetles and the unique benefits they provide to improving pasture production

  • leading to greater carrying capacity
  • reducing fertiliser use
  • improving parasite control
  • allowing more water to be stored in the subsoil
  • allowing an increase in earthworms
  • providing free clay spreading.
We will learn how to increase dung beetle activity and explore the many seasonally active species and their potential geographic range. This work shop is available to all Cattle, Sheep and Horse owners.

When: Friday July the 24thWhere: Jackman’s Property, Jackman’s Rd Dadswells Bridge. (Follow the Project Platypus signs from the Western Highway)Time: Presentation starts at 9.30am—11 am, (Tea/Coffee Break) Dung Beetle demo, 11.30am–12.30 (Lunch,) Paddock Walk 1-2pm
