This Basalt to Bay Landcare Network workshop will be focusing on weeds that are encroaching our coastal reserves - how to identify and control them plus plant give aways to replace invasive garden species that have found a home outside our gardens. Many of our coastal weeds come from illiegal dumping of garden waste and this workshop will hopefully further discourage this practice.

South west Victoria is blessed with a magnificent coast and coastal reserves which near urban areas suffer from weed invasion.  Many of these weeds come from illegal garden waste dumping and this workshop is aimed at educating householders living near reserves and landcarers working on improving these reserves to better understand weed impacts.

The workshop will cover weed  identification and control.  Free indigenous plants will be provided to encourage householders nearby to replace more invasive garden plants with local species which will enhance both thier garden and the local environment.

We appreciate the support of DSE CoastCare, Bunnings Warehouse Warrnambool and landcare members with great experience and knowledge who will be joining us on the day.
