This event is part of
The Upper Murray Landcare Network is beginning a 2 year
platypus survey in local streams in the Upper
Murray, working with the Australian Platypus
Conservancy.
The low flows in local streams during recent years prompted the Network to do preliminary surveys last year to try to establish a bench mark for platypus numbers.
These groups have committed to a two year platypus program with a real possibility of an on-going program.
The program will entail the Platypus Conservancy visiting in early October to hold an information session and two group platypus surveys over two days in early October.
Come along and hear about platypus and have a discussion with Dr Melody Serena about local streams and what you know about platypus numbers in the Upper Murray (See event below)
Join a group watch on either Friday (2nd October) or Saturday 3rd October to start the program and then have an opportunity to be part of the ongoing program.
10-15 participants are required for 2 hours each group watch.
