The Mayor will be launching the Trail's new bridge over Campbells Creek as well as our new interactive sign installation.
BBQ lunch provided. All welcome.

Christine Henderson, the Mayor of Mount Alexander Shire will launch the new ‘foot’ bridge over Campbells Creek and, our new interpretive signs downstream.  Both of the items being launched are big achievements for our Group.  To celebrate, there will be a barbecue lunch provided afterwards.

**For catering purposes, the lunch is an RSVP event.  See the end of this notice for details.**

The working bee part of the day will start at 10:00 AM.  We’ll be cleaning up debris, mowing weeds and planting tussock grasses to make the area surrounding the new footbridge look more presentable.  Here is a map of the location.  There is plenty of parking 80 m north in Camp Crescent, but consider coming on, or bringing bikes (see the next paragraph).  Wear sturdy footwear and clothing suitable for the day and if possible, gloves.  It would be helpful if you could bring garden tools like rakes, loppers, pruning saws.  If you do, don’t forget to mark them so you can identify and retrieve all your tools at the end of the working bee.

The launch of the footbridge is at the same location and will start at 11:30 AM.  Afterwards, we’d like to have as many people as possible cycle two km down the Trail to the site of the second launch and the BBQ.  Those who can’t cycle will be able ride in a bus or car (with car pooling).

The launch of the interpretive signs will start at about 12:00 PM.  Here is a map of the location.  Please note there is no space for car parking there.  Vehicles will need to be left at the end of Honeycomb Rd, Campbells Creek.  From there it’s a 450 m walk to the launch site.  Anybody who can’t walk in will be able to ride in bus or car.

We think we’ve done something innovative with the interpretive signage: each photo of our local flora and fauna can be interrogated by smart phone to learn more about the species, including hearing its calls (if it’s that kind of animal).  Bring you smart phone to try it out (you’ll need a QR code reader 'app' installed. There are plenty of free apps available).

The barbecue lunch will be ready from around 12:30 PM.

Those who need to be ferried back to Camp Crescent will be able to get a ride in bus or car at around 1:45 PM

Please RSVP to Jo-Anne Hewitt at the Council by Thursday 10th of September.  Special dietary preferences can be catered for if you let her know.
